Counseling Services

Initial Consultation

Students needing assistance with personal/emotional concerns or crisis situations can call or walk-in (no appointment needed) for an initial consultation with a CCS counselor.

Individual Counseling

If individual counseling at CCS is recommended, the student will discuss the goals and length of counseling with her/his assigned counselor. Counseling at CCS is based on a short-term model in order to meet student demand for our services.

Group Counseling

Students whose personal concerns can best be addressed in group counseling are scheduled for an initial appointment with a group facilitator (or co-facilitators). CCS offers a variety of groups to meet student needs.

CCS offers assessments for eating concerns and/or body image, substance use, and anger intervention concerns.

Crisis Services

During office hours, a CCS staff member is available to assist with mental health emergencies and/or crisis situations. Students are encouraged to come to CCS for an initial consultation or call 815-753-1206.

After office hours, students who are experiencing a mental health emergency and/or crisis situation (or those who are concerned about a student) can speak with the CCS on-call counselor
